The Beginning of the Journey

As photographers we all have our favourite locations and it’s all too easy to fall back on these rather than explore something new.
My photography journey started about 5 years ago after taking a trip to the Isle of Mull in Scotland.  I had the opportunity to take a boat trip to the island of Lunga to see the Puffins which nest on the island.  Back then I had a bridge camera which produced some very decent shots but in the year or so following my visit, I wanted to upgrade and try and improve my photography.
In 2015 I decided to book a 1-2-1 with Dorset based professional photographer Mark Bauer.  His help was invaluable – learning manual camera settings, composition and choosing the best time to shoot at a chosen location.
5 years later I’m still learning – I don’t think we ever stop learning.  I now shoot with a full frame camera, try to get the best composition I can at any location but most of all enjoy being out there capturing the world around me………even if I do still fall back on the same locations!
